From team-building days and new podcast episodes to industry awards and a Premier League window display, the team has been as busy as ever!

Our podcast is up and running!
Our new podcast, Beyond the Business, started a few weeks ago and we have hit the ground running! The episodes have explored issues that matter to investors, as well as some of the experiences that have affected us personally.
Two recent episodes show just how wide-ranging the podcast can be.
In one, Stuart Clark, who manages more than £30 billion through one of the UK’s largest managed portfolio services, joined Paul to discuss some of the key factors currently influencing markets. They covered the impact of Covid, Brexit, and geopolitical conflicts, as well as the technology boom, market concentration, and the outlook for interest rates.
Stuart also shared his thoughts on whether now is a good time to invest, the case for equities, managing volatility, and why UK companies are valued lower than their US counterparts.
In another episode, Paul spoke openly about losing his wife and becoming a single parent to three children. The conversation explored both the emotional and financial realities of bereavement, and offered a personal insight into why preparing for the unexpected matters, even when it’s difficult to imagine it happening to you.

FTAdviser once again recognised us as one of the Top 50 Boutique Advisory Firms!
We’re pleased to announce that MLP has been named among FTAdviser’s Top 50 Boutique Advisory Firms for the second year running!
The recognition means all the more because firms can’t enter or pitch for a place, and FTAdviser carries out its own analysis to decide which firms to include.
It’s a great reflection of the work the MLP team puts in every day, as well as the trust our clients continue to place in us. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making it possible!
The team completed a Tough Mudder obstacle course and then enjoyed a well-earned barbecue
The MLP team recently took a day away from the office to “enjoy” something a little bit different…
We decided to tackle the Vanguard Tough Mudder together. The Tough Mudder consists of a 5.3-kilometre obstacle course with plenty of mud, water, and challenges that looked considerably easier from a distance.
The best part of the experience was seeing everyone help each other through the tougher obstacles, from pulling teammates over challenges they might otherwise have avoided to chanting and shouting our encouragement. And of course, there were lots of laughs along the way.
The day was a good reminder that there are some things you can achieve much more easily as a team than on your own, and it’s often more fun that way.
After the course, the team headed to Paul’s house for the annual MLP summer barbecue, which carried on until late into the night!
Come and see our new Crystal Palace window display
As we have mentioned in our previous updates, MLP has recently become an associate partner of Crystal Palace.
We’re very excited to be partnering with a Premier League club, and to mark the new relationship, we gave our office window a Crystal Palace makeover, complete with the club’s colours, shirts, and plenty of other football décor.
Not everyone at MLP supports Palace, but Paul’s enthusiasm for the club seems to have given the team a growing soft spot for the Eagles. And as the Premier League club closest to our offices, they feel like a natural fit.
The partnership will bring new opportunities for MLP, but we’re also looking forward to getting involved in the Palace community and enjoying everything that comes with being part of the club.
