Listen out for our new podcast!

We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of a new podcast: Beyond the Business.

The show will be hosted by MLP directors, Seán and Paul, and will feature conversations around business, success, and wealth. It is designed to offer an honest look at the discussions that typically happen behind closed doors.

As a listener, you will also have the opportunity to help choose the topics of future episodes by suggesting themes you would like to hear covered.

We will share more details, including the official launch date, soon.

Another local sports team has our support

We take pride in and value our community, which is why we sponsor several local events and sports teams. And we’re pleased to announce that Banstead Cricket Club will also be enjoying our support!

The club includes 36 junior teams, and also offers opportunities for adults and older players, including walking cricket. It's a fantastic example of a community organisation that encourages people to stay active, socialise, and enjoy sport no matter their age.

Banstead's first team also competes at a high level, with several Surrey players, including captain Rory Burns, representing the club.

Research into healthy ageing consistently finds that regular activity and strong social connections are two of the biggest contributors to living well for longer. So, it's rewarding to support a club that plays such an important role in the community for both social and health purposes.

We’re looking forward to seeing how the partnership will develop over the coming seasons.

Our work has been recognised as top-rated, again!

MLP has once again been recognised in the Daily Telegraph's Top Rated Financial Adviser Guide.

Each of our advisers featured, and the business was also ranked as a top-rated firm. This continues our record of appearing in the guide every year since it was first launched more than eight years ago.

What makes this recognition especially valuable is that it's based on client feedback. To qualify, advisers must consistently receive outstanding reviews from the people they support. We have now received more than 850 five-star client reviews, which is a testament to the trust our clients have in us.

This achievement reflects the contribution of everyone across the business, so congratulations to the whole team on another fantastic achievement. And thank you to all our clients for your ongoing support and kind feedback.

Transfer complete, we’ve signed a new superstar!

Move aside Haaland, Kane, and Mbappé. With everyone being preoccupied with the World Cup for the last few weeks, we’ve made our own superstar new signing. Welcome to the team, Wasim Zaman, our newest paraplanner!

Following a highly competitive recruitment process, which saw more than 100 applications and over 20 interviews, Wasim stood out from the outset. He demonstrated not only excellent technical knowledge and strong professional qualifications, but also the positive attitude and enthusiasm that are so important to us.

Wasim will be joining our support team and has aspirations to become a financial planner in the future.

We look forward to supporting his development, so please join us in giving Wasim a warm welcome to MLP!

Welcome Keira!

And our new signings don’t stop there. We're also very excited to welcome Keira Dukes as the latest student recruit and the first woman to join the MLP academy!

Keira’s joining us on our placement programme and she will hopefully progress to a full-time role after university.

Rather than relying solely on experienced hires, we want to invest in people with ambition and the right attitude and work ethic. Indeed, many of our academy trainees have progressed into senior roles.

Keira’s application stood out. Throughout the recruitment process, she demonstrated a fantastic attitude, whether it was answering our calls straight away or returning documents ahead of schedule, she showed exactly the kind of mindset we value.

Welcome to the team, Keira!

Seán went on a Buddhist retreat

Seán recently spent a week at a Buddhist retreat. The retreat had strict rules, including:

  • No talking

  • No phones

  • No food after 1 pm

  • Daily meditation and Buddhist teachings

The week prompted Seán to reflect deeply, and some of the key lessons he brought back include:

  • Be kinder and more compassionate

  • Recognise that doing more isn't always the answer

  • Make time to disconnect from technology

  • Focus on being present in the moment

  • Remember that true wealth is about contentment, not simply accumulation

While the week was challenging, Seán found it a valuable reminder that taking time away to reflect can be just as important as working hard.

Katie went to Bali

Katie recently travelled to Bali to meet with friends who have been living in Sydney for the past couple of years.

The trip was the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. There were lazy days spent sunbathing on the beaches, while on others they visited local markets and explored some of the island's beautiful temples.

Altogether, it was a memorable holiday filled with sunshine, culture, and good company!

See you next time!‍ ‍

We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to. Look out for our next update coming soon.
