All our advisers featured in The Times’ Top Advisers for 2026
We’re proud to share that all our advisers at MLP have been featured in The Times’ Top Financial Advisers list, with the firm also recognised as Top Rated.
These rankings, produced in partnership with VouchedFor, have been running for over eight years, and MLP has featured consistently throughout that time.
A key requirement for inclusion is strong client feedback, and we’re pleased to have received 847 verified top reviews!
At a time when financial advice is more important than ever, this recognition carries particular weight.
Welcome Keira!
We’re pleased to announce a new addition to the MLP academy.
Keira Dukes has joined us on our student placement programme, with the ambition of progressing into a full-time role within the senior team after university.
Keira stood out from the very first meeting with Paul and Seán. When identifying potential new recruits, important qualities include work ethic, curiosity, drive, and overall attitude, and Keira demonstrated all of these traits early on.
This marks the beginning of what we hope will be a long and successful journey, and we look forward to supporting her development as she builds her career with us.
We would also like to recognise the contribution of Katie Ross and Matthew Lobo, who led the recruitment and selection process through to the final stages. The placement programme itself was developed and implemented by Katie, which is just one example of how her strong initiative has helped support the team.
Please join us in welcoming Keira to MLP!
We celebrated two milestone birthdays!
Last month, we celebrated two big birthdays at MLP: Seán’s 40th and James’ 30th.
Seán is still coming to terms with the fact that he’s officially reached the point where he can no longer claim to be “young”, even if he might disagree!
James, on the other hand, is still young (for now…), and it’s been wonderful to see how much he’s developed and grown since joining the team.
In just a few years, he’s progressed from administrator to one of our most experienced advisers, achieved multiple certifications, and consistently been a dependable member of the team.
One of the most rewarding parts of running a business is seeing people grow into what they’re capable of. It’s also why one of our core goals is to provide a vehicle for people to be successful.
Happy birthday to James and Seán!
Seán featured in The Times!
Seán recently featured in The Times and The Sunday Times, where he shared his insights on pensions and Inheritance Tax (IHT).
In the piece, he talks about the growing impact of IHT, with government receipts reaching £8.2 billion last year and expected to rise further.
Without planning, families could face a significant increase in their IHT liability, and Seán used the article to emphasise the importance of understanding the basics and taking early action.
It’s an important contribution to the wider discussion, and it’s also great to see MLP being recognised for its expertise in one of the most respected broadsheets in the country!
We’re publishing Quilter’s latest rates
We’ll now provide regular updates on Quilter’s latest rates from its CashHub service, which we use as part of our cash management solutions.
Clients can choose among easy-access, notice, and fixed-term accounts, with higher rates typically available in exchange for reduced access to their funds.
Seán was back in the podcast studio
Seán has been a regular in the podcast studio recently and made three appearances in the past month!
First, he joined the Financial Planner Life podcast with Sam Oakes, where he discussed how to help people succeed and how MLP applies these principles in practice to support team development and career progression.
You can listen to it here.
He then sat down with Dodge Woodall from Founder, which is a spin-off from the Eventful LivesPodcast. This episode is particularly relevant for business owners and covers a range of topics, including:
How to build long-term personal wealth
The realities of working in a family business
What a management buyout involves and how it works
Why tax efficiency is more important than ever, and how to approach it.
The episode is due to be released soon and will be shared on Seán’s LinkedIn once it goes live.
Finally, he featured on the Ambitious Minds podcast with Jay Lawrence, where they spoke about:
What true wealth is
How to build habits that lead to financial freedom
What business owners can do to build true wealth.
You can listen to it here.
It’s certainly been a busy month for Seán!
See you next time!
We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to. Look out for our next update coming soon.
