Welcome to the March edition of your behind-the-scenes MLP team update.
From promotions and milestone celebrations to podcast appearances and skiing trips, the team has been as busy as ever!

We reached the finals of the Professional Adviser Awards!
We’re pleased to share that we were recently a finalist for Top Advisory Firm in the South East at the Professional Adviser Awards.
Although we didn’t win, making the final is no easy feat and is a reflection of the focus and effort we’ve put into building MLP in recent years.
We’ve worked hard to create a strong, values-driven culture where our team can grow, be challenged, and thrive, while always putting our clients first.
Improving the client experience has been central to everything we do, so it’s incredibly rewarding to see that commitment recognised at this level.
We’d like to thank our entire team for their dedication and hard work, and all our clients for your continued trust and support.
Leigh has been promoted!
We’re delighted to announce that Leigh has been promoted to the role of Client Relationship Manager!
From the outside, advisers and financial planners often receive most of the attention, but the reality is that none of that work would be possible without the dedication and expertise of the team behind the scenes, and Leigh is something of an unsung hero.
She thrives in the areas that keep everything running smoothly, from operations and administration to ongoing client support. Leigh’s new role requires a high level of skill, knowledge, and organisation, and she has all three in abundance.
One of our company goals is to provide “a vehicle for people to be successful.” Leigh’s progression is proof that we’re succeeding, and we’re proud to have her as part of the team.
Happy Employee Appreciation Day!
Earlier this month, it was Employee Appreciation Day, which was the perfect opportunity to recognise the amazing work done by our team and celebrate some of their milestones.
James recently reached his fifth year with MLP, and we’re incredibly proud of how much he’s grown and matured in that time. He gives his all, constantly looks for ways to improve, and has just had his biggest producing quarter to date.
We also celebrated Aaron’s birthday. Like James, Aaron has grown enormously during his time at MLP and we’re very proud of the progress he’s made in his career development since joining.
We celebrated both of them with cakes, cards, and gifts, but we also want to show our love and appreciation for the whole team who continue to go above and beyond to make MLP a fantastic place to work every day!
Seán was back in the podcast studio
Seán was back in the studio recently, recording the Ambitious Minds podcast with Jay Lawrence.
Their conversation spanned a range of financial planning and business management topics. They discussed everything from how Seán and Paul have reshaped MLP since taking over and the reality of succession in a family business, to why financial planning firms need to update for the modern world and some common mistakes business owners make.
They also spoke about financial topics like the “great wealth transfer” and how many people are totally unprepared for it, as well as what true wealth really looks like.
If you’re a business owner or someone ambitious about building your future, there are some great insights in this episode. It hasn’t been released yet, but we’ll share it as soon as it has, so watch this space.
Seán went skiing with his son and learned some key lessons on the slopes
Seán recently spent four days skiing with his son Filippo.
They had an amazing time together, but it also reminded him of a personal trait of which he’s not particularly proud: impatience.
Not the dramatic kind, but everyday things, like rushing through breakfast to catch the first lifts, feeling frustrated in queues, and always trying to optimise the day to fit in just one more run.
So, Seán made a conscious effort to slow down. He took a breath, stayed present in the moment, and instead of rushing, he focused on taking proper breaks and enjoying the time they had together.
Because in the end, the goal wasn’t to maximise skiing, it was to maximise the memories.
It’s a good reminder that financial peace of mind isn’t just about numbers on a spreadsheet. It’s about having the freedom to be fully present when it matters most.
Do you know someone who’d want to work with us?
We’re building something bold at MLP, and we’re modernising quickly. Part of that drive includes a push to recruit new, ambitious team members.
We spent over £30,000 on recruitment last year. And as any business owner will tell you, finding a great team is harder than finding great clients.
We expect high standards, and if someone’s looking for a quiet, steady role with few opportunities to grow or stretch their abilities, MLP may not be the place for them.
But if you know someone who wants to grow quickly, be challenged, and reach their potential, then we’re always open to having conversations with ambitious people who want to build a serious career in wealth management.
We don’t even need to see a CV, just get them to send us a message and tell us what drives them.
See you next time!
We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to. Look out for our next update coming soon.
