Welcome to the May edition of your behind-the-scenes MLP team update.
From exploring new office spaces and sponsoring the local May Fayre to making multiple media appearances and enjoying a gin tasting, the team has been as busy as ever!
Read on to catch up on all the latest updates.
We’re opening a London office!
We’re excited to announce that MLP will soon be opening a new office in Central London!
Having a presence in the capital is a natural next step as we look to expand the business. Being based in Banstead means we’re already close to London, so establishing an office there will make it easier to build client relationships and unlock new opportunities.
We are currently exploring office space options and should have a location confirmed in due course.
As we expand, we’re also hiring for paraplanner roles. Get in touch to find out more!
Seán has been doing the media rounds
Seán has been a regular fixture in the media of late, and last month was no exception.
He recently featured in FT Adviser, where he was asked about his views on UK politics, taxation, and whether the current prime minister should step down. Rather than criticising individuals, Seán focused on the change needed in the wider structures that influence policy and economics.
You can read the article here.
Seán also appeared in Citywire, where he discussed what drives success in financial planning and in business in general.

Away from print media, Seán also recently joined Dodge Woodall on the Eventful LivesPodcast. The conversation covered a lot of ground, from the economy to business, and Seán spoke openly about topics he hadn’t previously discussed publicly.
Listen to the episode here.
Seán also sat down with Isabel Baxter from Professional Adviser Asset TV for a discussion on business ownership, succession planning, and strategies for long-term growth. Watch this space for the full episode.
Thank you, Seán, for being such a great rep and ambassador for our brand!
We sponsored the local May Fayre
Every year, we play a key role in the Banstead May Fayre and are one of the event’s main sponsors. This year, we also donated a prize hamper, set up a stall with free refreshments, and organised a raffle in support of charity.
Beyond the activities of the day, our main focus was on connecting with people and strengthening relationships within our community.
Whether they’re likely to engage us professionally or not, we’re always looking to go the extra mile to brighten up people’s days and support our local traditions.
The MLP brand has now reached the fashion world!
Since taking over the business, one of Seán and Paul’s key areas of focus has been branding, and we’re excited to say this has now stretched to fashion!
We recently produced some exclusive MLP hoodies for each of our team members. We wanted to create something genuinely high quality that people would be proud to wear outside of work as well in the office.
The hoodies are both a great gift for the team and offer an additional brand presence when worn outside the office. So, it’s a double win!
We enjoyed a gin tasting night with clients
We recently had a fantastic night hosting a gin tasting event with clients at Hayman’s Gin Distillery in London.
Like us, Hayman’s is a family business, though they’re known for producing traditional, high-quality gin rather than offering financial services.
The night was truly memorable and was a testament to the fact that many of the most successful businesses are built on craft and pride in what they do.
While we’re proud of the achievements we’ve made as a small business, we’re also always looking to support and advocate for other smaller UK businesses, which remain a fundamental part of the economy and local communities.
Special thanks to Miranda Hayman and the Hayman family, along with hosts Philip Gabriel and Alexa, for their hospitality.
We commissioned local artists to create our latest window display
We’ve updated our window display once again, but this time we commissioned local artists to create the design.
We’ve always aimed to bring colour and character to the high street through our displays, and they’ve become something of a talking point in the local community. Passers-by often stop to take a look, and it’s not unusual to see children pointing them out to their parents.
We’re pleased to support local creatives, and our windows are a great way to brighten the street and to show off some of the talent in our community.
See you next time!
We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to. Look out for our next update soon.
