MLP update: From launching our podcast to seeing our brand at a Premier League match, it’s been a month of firsts for the MLP team!

Welcome to the September edition of your behind-the-scenes MLP team update.

From launching our new podcast to seeing our brand at a Premier League match, the team has been as busy as ever!

Read on to catch up on all the latest updates.

Our podcast has premiered!

Our new podcast, Beyond the Business, is now officially live!

Seán and Paul have entered the podcast studio to talk about the real stories behind a successful business.

The show covers everything from what it’s like to run a family business to mindset and high performance, and we have some great guests booked to join us along the way.

It’s a bit different from your typical financial podcast, so expect plenty of honest conversations about what happens behind the scenes.

We’re really excited to see where this goes, so if you haven’t already, give it a watch or a listen and let us know what you think!

You can find Beyond the Business on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

Seán featured on Savvy Wallet

Alongside starting his own podcast, Seán has also been busy featuring on others.

He recently sat down with Ato Jay from the Savvy Wallet podcast, who has done a fantastic job of making financial education accessible.

They discussed everything from what Seán learned about money and business growing up with a financial adviser for a father, to whether the traditional approach to building wealth still works today.

It was a wide-ranging conversation about building financial wealth alongside a successful and fulfilling life.

The episode is expected to be released next month, so keep an eye on Seán’s LinkedIn and these updates for when it goes live.

MLP featured at a Premier League stadium!

Last month, we announced our new partnership with Crystal Palace F.C. So, we arranged a trip to see the team in action on the opening day of the season.

While Palace might not have had the start they were hoping for, the atmosphere was still electric, and Palace supporters really are some of the best around.

Of course, we were there to enjoy the game, but it’s not every day you get to see your company advertised up on the big screen at a Premier League stadium, so it was a pretty special moment to see MLP at Selhurst Park!

It was a disappointing day for Palace (though their results have picked up of late), but it was still a great day for the MLP team and one we won’t be forgetting in a hurry.

We celebrated not one, not two, but three MLP anniversaries!

This month we celebrated the MLP anniversaries of three staff members.

First up, Matthew Lobo has reached his first MLP birthday!

Matthew was our first placement student, and what a revelation he’s been! He’s trustworthy, efficient, and gets a huge amount done.

He’ll soon be heading back to university, but thankfully he’ll carry on working with us one day a week.

One of his biggest achievements so far has been building an incredible AI tool to help us produce suitability reports, and he did it in an impressively short amount of time.

Next up, we have Aaron, who recently turned three (in MLP years).

After originally joining us as a trainee, he’s come on leaps and bounds. Over the past three years, he has become fully qualified through the Chartered Insurance Institute and has become our first official paraplanner.

He’s also been a regular at our events, developed our client communications templates, and supported the team across different roles whenever he’s needed.

It’s been fantastic to see Aaron grow and develop over the past three years, both professionally and personally. And there’s plenty more to come, with some exciting news about Aaron and MLP on the horizon… (watch this space).

And last but definitely not least, Sue celebrated her quarter-century MLP birthday!

That makes Sue officially the longest-serving member of the team, and she's practically part of the family at this point.

Over the past 25 years, Sue has been a constant presence in the office, bringing plenty of cheer and laughter while also providing integral business support behind the scenes.

A quarter of a century is a pretty impressive stint, so please join us in congratulating Sue on an incredible 25 years at MLP!

Well done to Matthew, Aaron, and Sue for all their hard work and accomplishments. We take pride in having a team that includes everyone from students and trainees to seasoned professionals, as it’s part of what makes us stronger and more well-rounded as a firm.

We celebrated Harry’s (actual) birthday

Alongside the MLP birthdays, it was Harry’s actual birthday, which of course meant we celebrated in our typical way by showering him with a rendition of Happy Birthday and gifting him cake and presents!

Harry has been a great addition to the team. He’s already shown some fantastic qualities and has a bright future ahead of him.

And, perhaps most excitingly, he’s still got plenty of room to grow, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can achieve as he develops.

Please join us in wishing Harry a very happy birthday!

See you next time!

We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to. Look out for our next update coming soon.
