From award wins and a visit from our MP to football gatherings and an exciting new partnership, the team has been as busy as ever!

We have a very special new partnership!
We’ve got some very exciting news to share...
MLP is now an Associate Partner of Crystal Palace Football Club for the 2026/27 season, with the partnership set to continue for the next three years!
While not all of us support Palace (there are one or two Spurs fans in the office!), it’s hard not to admire what the club has achieved.
Their journey from financial uncertainty to lifting major trophies over the past couple of seasons is a fantastic example of what can be achieved with resilience and the right vision.
Sponsoring a Premier League club that is competing for European trophies is a proud moment for us, and we’re really looking forward to what this partnership will bring.
We’ll be sharing more throughout the season, so keep an eye out for updates. And yes, a few of us might be cheering on the Eagles a little more than usual this year!
We received an award from our local MP
Last month, we were awarded Small Business of the Year for Reigate, Redhill, and Banstead!
To mark the occasion, our local MP, Rebecca Paul, visited our office to present the team with a certificate celebrating the award. It was great for our work to be recognised, and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase what our business has achieved.
We also had the chance to discuss some key issues affecting both small businesses and our clients with Rebecca, from the challenges entrepreneurs face to the current financial and tax landscape.
It was a great conversation, and Rebecca expressed an interest in returning to feature on our podcast in the near future! We’ll be sure to let you know when that episode is available.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported MLP on our journey. Recognition like this reflects the hard work of our team and the trust our clients place in us every day.
We celebrated the World Cup in style
The World Cup may not have ended the way we had hoped, but it certainly brought people together.
Throughout the tournament, we brought some colour and life to the high street with a themed window display that proved to be a real talking point.
The display featured live match updates, World Cup memorabilia, and a signed Pelé shirt, and it encouraged plenty of passers-by to stop and pop in for a chat. Alongside the football theme, we used the displays to share financial planning messages and to introduce more people to MLP and the services we provide.
It’s a great reminder that financial planning doesn’t always have to feel formal, and sometimes a shared passion for football is all it takes to start a conversation.
The tournament also brought the team together. We finished early to watch one of England’s matches in the office, with drinks and snacks. And after some of the late kick-offs, we gave the team a later start the next morning.
What made us especially proud was how naturally everyone pulled together to make it happen. From organising refreshments to setting up the room and clearing everything away afterwards, the team all pitched in to create an event that everyone could enjoy.
England may not have lifted the trophy, but the World Cup brought us closer to our team and community, which is the real value and magic of sport.
We hosted a World Cup-themed wine night
We continued the World Cup theme by hosting an MLP Wine World Cup for our clients.
Guests sampled wines from across Europe as they went head-to-head in a series of knockout rounds, including Greece vs Croatia, France vs Italy, and Spain vs Portugal.
These evenings are a great opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing clients, meet local business owners, and share ideas in an informal setting.
Events like these are all about bringing people together, providing something enjoyable, and creating opportunities for people to connect.
A big thank you goes to wine expert Tim Killen, who expertly guided us through each of the "matches" and helped make the evening such a success.
