MLP team update
Welcome to the September edition of your MLP team update.
From enjoying our annual summer barbeque and celebrating our staff’s milestones to first aid training and wine events, the MLP team has been as busy as ever!
Read on to catch up on all the latest updates.
We celebrated as a team at the famous MLP summer barbeque
Who needs Glastonbury when we’ve got something even better? The world-famous MLP summer barbeque!
Every year, Paul and Seán host the event at Paul’s house, provide all the food, drinks, and get the barbeque going themselves.
As ever, the team’s partners and children were all invited, and together, we enjoyed great food, drinks, games, and plenty of sunshine.
These events are about giving something back to our staff and saying thank you for all their hard work. They bring us even closer together and are what make us stronger every year.
Here’s to another successful barbeque and to our amazing MLP team!
Katie became a member of the Institute of Professional Will Writers
Katie has officially become a member of the Institute of Professional Will Writers (IPW) after taking a course and successfully passing her exam a few months ago!
This means we can now offer our clients will writing services, giving you an even higher level of expertise and reassurance when it comes to planning for the future.
At MLP, we’re passionate about helping people feel confident that their finances and legacy are in safe hands, and Katie’s achievement strengthens that commitment.
It’s also worth noting that over 50% of UK adults don’t currently have a will. If that includes you, now is the perfect time to start planning – and we’re here to help.
Congratulations Katie!
Aaron got a contract extension, and we celebrated his second anniversary
This summer hasn’t just been about new signings and transfers, as we’ve also had a big contract extension within the MLP team. We’re excited to announce that Aaron has been promoted to Paraplanner at MLP Wealth Management.
Aaron first joined us as a Trainee Adviser, and it’s been inspiring to see his development over the past two years. His commitment and growing expertise have made him an invaluable part of the team.
In his new role, Aaron’s responsibilities include:
Writing reports
General research
Plan and investment reviews
Investment research
Platform analysis
Tax calculations.
These skills bring new strengths to the whole business, and Aaron’s ongoing learning and development make him an integral member of our team.
And if his promotion wasn’t enough, Aaron also celebrated his second anniversary with MLP! To celebrate, we surprised him with balloons and a cake.
Thanks for all your hard work Aaron, and here’s to many more years of success and growth together.
First Aid training was a lifesaving and team-building experience
We recently had some “terrible injuries”, though thankfully they didn’t last, as they were all part of our first aid training session.
Ciaran O’Sullivan led the training, and aside from equipping us with life-saving skills, he ensured the session was fun and brought the team closer together.
Here are a few facts we learned:
Just two minutes without breathing can cause permanent brain damage
Heart attacks remain one of the leading causes of death in the UK.
And here are some of the essential skills we practised:
Using aspirin as a blood thinner during a suspected heart attack
Dressing serious wounds
Helping someone who’s choking with abdominal thrusts
Administering CPR effectively.
The training reminded us of the importance of looking out for one another and being there to support our local community, reinforcing the culture of care, teamwork, and community spirit we value at MLP.
We’re proud to say that everyone passed the course, and that all “injuries” were fully recovered.
Join one of our wine nights for delicious drinks, great connections, and financial peace of mind
We believe that offering the best financial advice is only part of what we do. Just as important is creating a high-level client experience that feels personal, unique, and enjoyable.
One way we build that community is through our wine tasting events, available to clients on a first-come, first-served basis.
Our latest evening was themed ‘Summer Wines’ and included an expert presentation from the brilliant Tim Killen. Tim guided us through specially selected wines from a hand-picked selection sourced from our local partners at Banstead Vintners.
We also spent the night socialising and networking with fellow clients, and the whole MLP team mucked in to ensure the night ran smoothly and was fun for all involved.
On top of being an excuse to drink delicious wine from a local provider, events like these help build our community and ensure our clients feel truly valued.
If you’d like to find out more about how you can join one of our future wine events, please get in touch.
See you next time!
We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what the MLP team has been up to. Look out for our next update coming soon.
